Farmer's Best Market operates a 25,000 square foot international grocery market bringing in high quality meats, produce, dairy products and groceries to serve a variety of ethnic backgrounds, particularly the growing Latino market. In addition to Famer's Best Market, there are additional retail spaces available ranging in size from 1,250 to 6,000 square feet.
Matanky Realty Group, which owns and manages Bishop Plaza, plans to revitalize the long vacant site at 47th & Bishop through a $10 million plus project that includes upgrading the existing buildings, landscaping, reconfiguring the parking lot and constructing a new 6,000 square foot retail building along the eastern edge of the site. Construction has been completed and there are only a few spaces left.
Matanky Realty Group has worked closely with the City of Chicago's Department of Planning and Redevelopment, and will utilize Tax Increment Financing to make the project possible. The project will create an estimated 100 new full-time equivalent jobs.
